Qualification and Employment Opportunities for young adults:
Carer and Custodian for housing, facilities and fittings
The vocational training centre Kreuzberg offers a qualification measure for young adults through the BIWAQ-project “WorkIn”.
This qualification, lasting up to 18 months, will be held in various training workshops in the fields of wood and metalwork, sanitary and heating installation, painting and landscape care.
The housing industries’ demand for workers with these qualifications is large. Potential employers are involved in this project as co-operation partners and, as a first step, provide places for practical experience.
This project is not area bound.

MAE-Jobs
are often the only opportunity for many unemployed to earn extra money and stay socially connected. There are many MAE-Jobs in Neukölln. To find the right one, it’s best to personally consider the offers. The project bearers offering these MAE-positions do not necessarily have to locate their main offices in Neukölln to implement projects there. So don’t be discouraged by an address in Zehlendorf or Tegel!
Addresses of project bearers can be found under:
at the top under the item "Maßnahmen" and "Träger" --> Trägerverzeichnis
If you are interested in an MAE-position, go to the site:
"Stelle statt Stütze"
The Society for social Enterprise Management Consulting mbH GSUB supports small to medium-sized Berlin businesses if they create an additional workplace. This support is not an employment subsidy.
It pertains to 480 hours of job adjustment for the new employee in the business and to 120 hours of job qualification, which are to take place during the working hours.
The aid for this new place of employment can continue for up to a year and amount to up to 70% of the employers’ gross salary.
About 75% of the new employees remain with the business after the support ends.
All recipients of ALG II, as well as the unemployed who do not receive any benefits, but are registered as being jobless, such as partners in a domestic community, may participate.
Job seekers can find employment opportunities on the website www.stelle-statt-stuetze.de and the Job-Point in Karl Marx-Street 131-133, subway station U7 on Karl Marx-Street.
You can point out the possibility for support in your applications or job interviews. The employer will be advised by members of the GSUB. The important thing is for the employer to apply before hiring you.
