Online Applications
These days, the online-application is widely accepted, and it's importance will increase more.
What you should know: state in the subject heading what your email is about. Example: Application John Doe with attachments (application documents). Furthermore, state shortly and clearly that you are applying to the advertisement in the daily newspaper XYZ .
In the attachments (your documents, such as the cover letter and resume), you should use only document formats that cannot be manipulated. PDF is the most common format. You can download the necessary conversion programmes, such as PDF Creator or Free PDF XP, from the internet as freeware, or use online conversion services such as LOOP PDF. Make sure that your attachments do not grow too large. Large amounts of data require long loading times, and email inboxes do have limits.
Where possible, send your application emails from your email program (e. g. Outlook a. o.) and not through your online email provider, as they like to add advertisements.
