General Social Counselling- Help for everone
The general social service of the Caritas offers counselling for persons with social, financial and family problems in Berlin. Experienced social workers to inform and counsel on
- personal and family issues
- questions on social welfare
- other questions concerning social law
- economic emergencies (distress)
- pregnancy issues
- health resort treatments through the mothers' convalescence scheme
- institutions
- questions concerning ALG II (SGB II), basic welfare and social welfare
and offer support

- in applying for legal benefits / welfare
- implementing claims with legal entitlement
- applying for institutional grants and endowments
cooperate and arrange contacts with
*
- other counselling centres (such as debt counselling), child care, marriage and family counsellors, addiction counselling)
- material support organisations (such as clothes depots and soup kitchens)
- self help groups
- special departments of the borough office
- church congregations
The talks are free of charge, unaffected by confession, nationality and world view and anonymous on request.

creating perspectives!
If you find yourself in an emergency situation, such as being destitute or homeless, you can approach one of the outreach centres of the public utility mitHilfe GmbH with your problems.
The staff will inform you on and support you with
- impending homelessness and the acquisition of new housing / accommodation
- the settling of legal and official matters
- debt issues and domestic planning
- finding work or vocational training and
- organising everyday life and leisure time.
The counselling centres can be found in
- in Weichsel Street 55 (U7 Rathaus Neukölln, Bus M41 )
- in Wipper Street 18 (U7 and S Neukölln) and
- in Boddin Street 58 (U7 Rathaus Neukölln).
Counselling and practical support is free of charge, the only prerequisite being the active participation and willingness to improve the personal living circumstances.

The Hartzer Roller
The “Hartzer Roller” is mobile social counselling on ALG II and welfare benefits.

Within the frame of individual counselling it’s possible to:
- get help filling out applications
- preparations for applications
- checking (recalculating, etc) of ALG II-notifications
- explanations on counter-measures (appeals, lawsuits, deadlines, etc)
- clarification discussions on your own plans (self-employment, further education, etc)
- ways and means of communication in dealings with the Jobcenter
- clarification of basic questions and issues around ALG II
Counselling through the Hartzer Roller is free of charge!

Every Tuesday between 13h00 and 15h00 there is an open consultation without appointments in the Mehrgenerationenhaus Çamlık.

The City Oasis is an open contact centre for everyone.
Free-of-charge counselling takes place here.
Some staff members can communicate with advice seekers in Turkish and Polish.
All discussions are confidential.
